Amy Schumer Was Booed And Her Show Was Completely Derailed After A Donald Trump Joke In Florida

Years ago, Amy Schumer took a major risk, and one that did not pay off. Schumer went after Donald Trump, but the problem was, Schumer's stand-up act took place in Tampa, Florida, a location that has lots of Donald Trump supporters. The audience didn't take kindly to Schumer's words, as they walked out mid-set. To make matters worse, the audience also booed.

Schumer called Trump, "an orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.” She continued, “Do you get worried at all with how impulsive he is?” she asked him. “That he gets so fired up from Saturday Night Live doing a skit on him … do you worry he’ll be impulsive and get us in a lot of f–- trouble we can’t get out of?”

Schumer would also address the fans that walked out of her show, and started booing.

“Of course, we’re in Florida, you’re going to boo. From now on if you yell out, you’re going to get thrown out.”

Fans were especially upset that Schumer brought up politics to begin with during her show. Something a lot of the fans weren't anticipating, and did not want to hear about.

Schumer penned a letter to fans who left her Florida show over the Trump jokes. As expected, there was a bit of sarcasm during the apology.

She would read the letter during her show in Madison Square Garden. “I’ve written an open letter to Tampa and I’d like to read it tonight,” she began. “Dearest Tampa, I’m sorry you didn’t want me, a comedian who talks about what she believes in, to mention the biggest thing going on in our country right now. How could I think it was OK to spend five minutes having a peaceful conversation with someone with different views?"

Schumer's sarcasm on the matter continued, “After the show, I want you to know that I will go straight to a rehab facility that will teach me how to make all people happy. Both the rich, entitled, white people who are gonna vote for him and the very poor people – who’ve been tricked into it.”

In the same year, Wanda Sykes flipped off a crowd for booing after an anti-Trump joke. The moment took place during her stand-up set at a Boston fundraiser back in 2016. Things turned ugly real fast, and Sykes put the crowd on blast for their reaction.

“After the election, I was going around consoling people. I said, ‘Guys, look on the bright side, I am certain this is not the first time we’ve elected a racist, sexist, homophobic president; he ain’t the first one. He’s just the first confirmed one.”
