In a fresh installment of the Pod Meets World podcast, Keegan addressed rumors surrounding his alleged established order of a cult after obtaining an deserted temple in 2014.

"There was this interesting group of hippie types, if you will, in Venice,” he explained. “I was connected with some folks and we had this opportunity. This old Hare Krishna Temple, it was sitting there empty and we were like, ‘Why don't we get some people together, and let's open this place up?'"

Andrew mentioned that the actions conducted on the temple were simply gatherings designed to domesticate neighborhood and explore spirituality., pronouncing his status quo didn’t meet the definition of a cult and wasn’t malicious.

Known as Full Circle, the events orchestrated through Keegan and his cohorts comprised dinner soirées and non secular purposes spanning a length of three years, explains. Keegan stated he was exhausted by way of the constant branding of Full Circle as a cult, disregarding such categorizations as "clickbait central.” He also emphasized the altruistic nature of the organization, saying it became a positive community space for many people.

"There was no doctrine," the 7th Heaven alum went on. "We have been simply getting people together."

Despite the negative press Full Circle has received over the years, which seemed to fuel its eventual demise, Keegan said he’s proud of what it was able to accomplish in such a short time. "We opened it up and spent three years and actually did construct an excellent buddy team," he recalled. "We went thru one thing truly important from 2014 to 2017."

"It was really really helpful to a lot of folks," Keegan added. "I nonetheless listen about it now, where individuals are like, ‘That was such a great time.'"

Keegan’s Acting Career Slowed Down Amid The Full Circle Drama

Keegan continues to dabble in the entertainment industry despite the controversy Full Circle caused. He had a role in the movie The Activated Man, which debuted last year, and appeared in an episode of Trinkets in 2020.

He initially gained recognition for his role in the film 10 Things I Hate About You, released in 1999, but also starred in other big projects around that time like The Broken Hearts Club (2000) and Independence Day (1996).

Beyond Full Circle’s contentious reputation, the organization also got Keegan into legal trouble at one point. Back in 2015, Andrew found himself in hot water when he was apprehended for vending Kombucha, a fermented tea with trace amounts of alcohol, at the Full Circle spiritual community center.

The actor and associates were caught by undercover agents from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control during a fundraiser for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, where the beverage was being served. Keegan later said he didn’t realize selling kombucha was an offense.
