Fans Are Shocked By This 'Harry Potter' Star's Involvement In A Drug Bust

There are crazy celebrity tales after which there are ones so ridiculous that they reputedly cannot be true.

This is a kind of tales...

Without a doubt, this one of the most not likely megastar from the Harry Potter franchise to have been caught up in something as illegal and over-the-top as this.

We're speaking helicopters, mountains of cocaine, and Professor Sprout...

Miriam Margolyes Drug Bust

Professor Sprout, AKA Miriam Margolyes, has been a frequent guest on Britain's premier chat show, The Graham Norton Show. On numerous occasions, Miriam has over-shared her opinions of famous stars or informed tales that experience completely shocked the audience, the host, and the multiple famous person visitors who occupy the degree without delay. In truth, Friends' star Matthew Perry claimed that his expereince with Miriam used to be considered one of the most uncomfortable moments of his life.

And it was once downright hilarious!

As was Miriam's 2019 appearance along her Harry Potter co-star, the extremely wealthy Daniel Radcliffe. It was once this look the place she defined how she had unwittingly been a a part of a completely massive drug bust in England.

"Miriam Margolyes... things happen to you," Graham Norton stated on the show.

Immediately Miriam perked up and explained that she has a cottage close to Dover, on the fringe of England that she rents out. But as she's come to be told, she doesn't all the time rent it out to the fitting other folks...

"It's the nearest house to France, which is very important in this story," Miriam Margolyes explained. "And it's 425 pounds a week. And it sleeps six people for about seven nights. It's clean. Anyway, one day I got a call from the police. And they said, 'Are you the owner of the Gun Emplacement (the name of the cottage)?' And I said, 'Yes'. And they said, 'Are you aware that it's been used as a drop for criminals to get rid of their drugs?' You know, it's a drug drop. I believe that's the phrase. And I said, 'Of course, I didn't know. What do you mean?' And they said, 'Well, people have rented it." They had been a gang. A gang!"

As Miriam was telling her story, Daniel, as well as Alan Cummings, who was also a guest on the show, couldn't contain their laughter.

After all, who would expect a lovely, very proper, old British woman to be involved with such a thing?

"They took my house and they dropped their medicine in the bay. And there used to be a helicopter that came on the roof. It's a flat roof, you see? And that they had cocaine. They had something like Thirteen million pounds worth of [cocaine]."

"WHAT!?" Alan Cummings gasped.

"No, no. It wasn't like a little thing. This was a huge thing!" Graham explained.

"Of course, I used to be horrified as a result of I did not know," Miriam admitted. "I mean, I wouldn't have the rest to do with the individuals who hire it. I simply take the money."

The British Press Had A Field Day With This Story

If you think the American press is mean, you should really see how the majority of the British press reports their celebrity stories... They're brutal. And Miriam was reminded of this when they publicized the story. In fact, some of the British tabloids branded Professor Sprout as "Miriam Escobar", implying that she may have had something to do with the incredibly well-orchestrated and sophisticated drug drop. This is something a lot of commenters also claimed.

"When it was reported... Of path, in The Daily Mail, all of the people online stated, 'Oh, she should be in it'. 'You know, she's a part of the gang.'"

In fact, the investigators confirmed that Miriam didn't know what was going on with her property. The gang was using the house to supply Britain and the UK with cocaine. So, it was as large of a scheme as Miriam intimated in her Graham Norton interview.

A Birkenhead gang boss, who was arrested, did use a helicopter to bring the drugs in through Miriam's property. They also used cars with hidden compartments to smuggle the drugs in and out of the drop zone. Encrypted phones, which were dropped off by the helicopter pilots, were used by the gang to communicate without detection. However, the gang was being investigated by the police who eventually blew the lid on their operation.

The judge who jailed the gang said that the drugs had a wholesale value of over 17 million pounds. She called their act "selfishness beyond contemplation."

Although the crime lords escaped England, they were eventually arrested when trying to enter Ukraine from Moldova.

Luckily for them, they didn't have to endure the wrath of Professor Sprout's magic or outlandish stories... They just happened to be a part of one.
