In 2017, Amber Riley formed a musical theatre super group with Beverley Knight and Cassidy Janson, known collectively as being the Leading Ladies, and signed to East West Records/Warner. Her debut album, Songs from the Stage was released in November 2017.

In 2020, she confirmed she was recording songs for a new solo product which would be released under the name RILEY. The EP was released on October 2, 2020, featuring six tracks. On October 8, 2020 she released a music video for the track "Creepin."

After speaking out about the trials she’s faced as a Black woman in Hollywood, Amber Riley launched #unMUTEny, encouraging other Black entertainers to share their experiences, in hopes of making a change in the industry.

Riley says that the pandemic and institutional red tape hindered her progress on taking the movement outside social media. “I’ve always wanted to [create] a hub or a place that helped people of color, Black people specifically, in this industry because I know what it is that we experience,” Riley explains. “It’s gonna take some time, but it’s definitely still at the forefront of my mind.”

"But we've a long way to pass so far as illustration, no longer simply in front of the digicam, but at the back of the camera and having other folks in upper positions that are making choices," she added.

4 Amber Riley Won Dancing With The Stars

The former Glee star won Season 17 of Dancing With The Stars alongside partner Derek Hough. "I would like to let girls of all sizes available in the market know that you'll do no matter you place your mind to," Amber Riley said upon her win. She also earned the highest cumulative score of any contestant that season. Riley was noticeably the first African-American woman to win Dancing With the Stars.

In February 2022, Amber Riley was the leading lady in Lifetime's thriller Single Black Female. Based on the '90s film, it stars Raven Goodwin as Monica, a Houston-based television host who e is assigned an enthusiastic new assistant, Simone (played by Amber Riley), who looks just like her. This casting came after the pair were frequently mistaken for each other in real life.

The film was watched by 5.1 million viewers on-air and online and was the most-watched original movie of the year across all telecasts

2 Amber Riley Is Producing A TV Show

It has been reported that Amber Riley will star in and co-executive-produce a music-driven comedy for NBC.

The single-camera project will follow a former teen mom, Dream Morgan (played by Riley), who turns her life upside down to pursue her dream of becoming a singer after her son graduates from college.

Lisa Muse Bryant (black-ish) is wriitng the script and serve as showrunner, in addition to exec-producing alongside Neil Meron (The Wiz Live!, Smash).

1 Amber Riley Won The Masked Singer

Amber Riley was recently crowned the season 8 winner of The Masked Singer, during which Ken Jeong was convinced the woman behind the Masked Harp character was Jennifer Hudson.
